The ABC Song has been helping babies learn letters for nearly two centuries. The tune comes from a French melody called Ah! vous dirai‑je, maman, which later became the music for Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and Baa, Baa, Black Sheep.
In 1835, American music publisher Charles Bradlee printed the alphabet lyrics to this familiar melody, making it easy for children to sing and remember A to Z.
